Information, guidance and defense of asylum seekers

Service d’Aide Juridique aux Exilé.e.s (SAJE)

The SAJE is one of the five HEKS/EPER legal advice offices in Switzerland. It aims to inform, guide and defend asylum seekers, temporarily admitted persons and those whose application has been rejected in the Canton of Vaud. The SAJE also undertakes advocacy work, drawing on its experience with asylum seekers. HEKS/EPER also operates legal advice offices in the Cantons of Zurich, Basel, St. Gallen, Solothurn and Aargau.

Who we are

To safeguard the principles of human rights and the rule of law, SAJE lawyers inform, counsel and defend people seeking asylum. Persons applying for asylum can benefit from legal follow-up and be kept informed about their asylum procedure, including the appeal procedure, their application for family reunification, and the like. F permit holders can obtain support in applying for regularisation (B permit), family reunification, travel authorisation, and so on. Persons who have been issued with a removal order may be defended in order to have their asylum application re-examined, or to obtain emergency assistance or a humanitarian B permit. The SAJE is also at the disposal of interested civil society players in order to study the evolution of asylum law from the standpoint of its practical experience and to provide training.
