Equal opportunity through early childhood education and care
Edulina - Multilingual workshops
Multilingual workshops are held to inform foreign language-speaking parents about fostering the development of their children’s motor, cognitive, language and social skills, thereby preparing them optimally for kindergarten and school. The programme aims to improve the chances of children with a migrant background in the Swiss education system.
Workshops for foreign language-speaking parents
Parents with migrant backgrounds often lack information about properly preparing their children for kindergarten and school. Verifications at educational institutions and specialized offices have revealed a dearth of early childhood education and care programmes for people of various mother tongues in the Basel area. To improve the chances of these children in the Swiss education system and strengthen families over the long term, HEKS/EPER offers multilingual workshops for mothers and fathers with young children up to five years of age. Parents receive practical suggestions for nurturing their children specifically to foster their motor, cognitive, language and social skills.
