Peter Merz has worked for HEKS-EPER since 2009, initially as head of the Africa/Latin America department, before spending four years as head of the International Division as a member of the Executive Board. In his role as Director, he has been responsible for the development of the organisation since November 2017. “The merger with Bread for all and the subsequent 23 -27 strategy process have been flagship projects over the past few years which I look back on with great pride,” remarked Peter Merz, who turns 60 this year.

In his internal statement, Peter Merz thanks the President Walter Schmid, the entire Board of Trustees, his colleagues on the Executive Board and senior management as well as all employees for their trust and constant support and future-oriented collaboration over the past 14 years. “I’ve always been motivated and inspired by everyone’s commitment to achieving our vision of a fair world.”

Peter Merz wishes to tackle new challenges with a different portfolio of activities and explore new issues with various mandates over the coming years
